The more jobs that go over seas the less they will need here in the states. Face it people the outsourcing is growing and our jobs here in the states are shrinking.

They pretty much don't need to lay CSRs off. They can just put on a hiring freeze, make working conditions bad, and start firing people. Then you have enough exit that the CSR headcount goes down.
Layoffs right now are for "managers," i.e. non union people. Admin staff, team leaders, team managers, etc. So far it seems like the directors are helping one another keep their jobs.

Trim the UNearned fat on exec compensation. Stop paying for bad deals with other people's job. The orchestrator should pay for the bad deal with their job.

The foolish AT&T have off-shored Thousands of jobs, for short term larger profits, to make big bonus payouts, , not understanding such a simply economic reality that they have killed off the very income producing jobs that allowed the domestic employees to earn incomes sufficient to purchase those very same services they once sold to them domestically, who are now expected to do so, but without a decent income producing job. Rinse and repeat. We're burning the furniture for heat and eating our seed corn.
They fool themselves and shareholders, buying up their own stock, with cheap debt, to drive up the EPS at record highs, only to now see their share prices plummet, as those in the know, frontrun the gambit.
Many will explain that this off-shoring of jobs is capitalism working and that these countries are just competing with us, but we know this is dishonest sophistry.
Where is the burgeoning middle-class in China, or other countries? The technical question is, where is the growth of their ‘domestic market’ as they grow their own internal GDP, not GDP that they export to us?
There are only people in other countries, making cheap crap for us, that they can barely afford for their own domestic use, like an iPhone.
