I think people fail to realize, it doesn't really matter if an employee is expendable or not, employers are expendable all same...it's part of the checks and balances that should exist in a capitalist system. The employer should never have all the power over the employee. Does your current job suck? Well then go find another!

ctw - I have no doubt that the work you do is excellent and there are already examples where the temp techs are doing a shoddy job. Yet the stock hasn't moved very far off its high point and people are still calling in to get service. Why are they doing this, because people care about themselves. This is tragic in many regards but it is the way of the world. I have lost count of customers who say "I don't care about the strike", or say, "oh yeah, there is a strike going on". There are just too many people in this footprint who don't care and that hurts the Union more that VZ. So at the end of the day, just like the State vs. the Common Person....the state has all of the resources they need. Again, not saying this is right but it is accurate62

Everyone is replaceable, the second you think you're not that's when you lose your job. They can train people and sure maybe at first they will struggle but eventually they will be here 1, 5, 10 years.

"Where is the finish line? Is that where you come back with the exact contract you want? How do you suppose that will happen?"

You've pretty much answered your own question right here:

"until June 30th and by then the contractors will be trained and the EWA's go home. "

I can guarantee you that every single one of these trained contractors that enters a NYC/Boston/D.C. manhole - to name but a few - will do damage without fixing anything. If they find their way in to begin with...

Most of us have been doing this stuff for decades. Knowledge is power.

Where is the finish line? Is that where you come back with the exact contract you want? How do you suppose that will happen? Those that are doing EWA are told they will be here up and until June 30th and by then the contractors will be trained and the EWA's go home. This could go on ad naseum but you will still be wondering where is the finish line so that you can "win bigly". I'm not trying to be sarcastic here but I just don't understand how any Union rep can think this way

Managers told to put their life on hold for 3 months in the name of the Kings of Verizon and to accomplish their agenda only to be told later that the accounts they supported back at the office switched to AT&T or Amazon.

Can you restate that in a coherent manner, maybe even with some support for the statement?
