The union leadership still has their paycheck and health insurance, so maybe that's the reason they don't seem to have any sense of urgency about ending the strike.

Union doesn't care about the workers, only about their power.
The workers should return as their leader ship negotiate with the Verizon. They have already lost income they can't replace. Their demands have been well publicized. It is time to get the kids heathcare back.

Update on East Negotiations – May 06, 2016
There have been no bargaining meetings with the New York/New England unions since our meeting with them on Monday. At the unions’ request, there was an off-the-record subcommittee meeting on Wednesday to discuss call sharing.
We met with the Mid-Atlantic unions on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. In these meetings, the unions presented proposals on a number of specific subjects, including call sharing. Their call sharing proposal did not include the routing flexibility that the Company has identified as a critical issue. In fact, it went backward from the unacceptable call sharing proposal that the unions had included as part of a package in January. We rejected their proposals and we reiterated that the unions have our last best final offer.

Its gridlocked...get these workers back on the job and go to mediation before they are all locked out or fired. Give your members some hope at a time when they are most vulnerable and at their lowest. As members begin to realize they cannot take care of their families anymore those emergency health benefits will be eaten up overnight as they have to choose between crossing the line or jumping off the bridge.
