Nnf--ditto! Want this to end, HATE my EWA assignment, hate that the threat of getting fired forces me to go. Want the union and VZ to reach a fair compromise for both sides. 100% agree that American jobs need to stay in America. This can't end soon enough.

Ewa here. Yes many of us want this and want the money. I don't. I want to go home to my normal job. Money isn't worth it. Can't wait for this to end.
No OP, you are wrong. I'm on EWA. I'm doing it for the rewards, which includes keeping my job. I don't do anything that I don't choose to do. Call me whatever names you want. Your words, just like your strike, do nothing.
You only see or hear about the bad interactions. And the bad interactions are a result of the Union members who have been harassed mercisly for years, finally getting to let out their frustrations on a particular manager. most Union members understand the EWA folks have to be at work, just like the EWA folk understand that the Union members have to slow them up a bit and give them a little razzing if need be.
FYI We don't qualify for shift differentials or weekend bonus. Just regular pay and overtime. Yes after 50 it is double but that is a policy unrelated to the ewa. If you had gone on strike on August there would be no double ot. Anyway, I hope this all gets resolved soon. For everyone.
We were "randomly" selected by our leadership. Neither doctor notes for high blood pressure, mental illness and even HIV+ didn't matter or did anyone give a crap.
At lower bands you get 2x overtime after 50 hours and the 35% increased weekend pay
Your arrogance your defiance your absolute refusal to question your union leadership should not cause you to hate on managers. For those who save managers are scams you are completely uninformed or just plain dance whether we make money or not and we do make a lot during the strike we have no choice if we don't come to work we lose our job. This is where the inequality kicks in. EWA 1st line, or band 6-8 doing the same work as the replacement lawyer but lawyer getting way more for same work. Seems unfair to me
Lowell and his buddies are running this company into the ground so they can get rich. If you can't see this you are blind. Wireline doesn't make money in the territory they have left? Give me a break. They are getting fat off all the money they make in the big cities. They have shyster accountants that hide all of that profit. If they don't want the wires please for the love of god sell it to someone who cares.

Im management, don't tell me how I feel. I really do not want to work seven days a week. I would rather have my crew in and working. Lower management and craft are just pawns in this battle. I don't drop sh-- off buildings I treat the union people with respect and understand why they are out. I really would rather to be off this weekend. Im considered essential so Im working in place of my crew of nine.

I heard a manager refused to work in this rain and was fired. Also heard 2 managers had heartattacks after being sent to work out in the field. Now just heard about this manager committing suicide. This is horrible. This company has been weeding theunion out year after year. Just extend the damn contract and continue to weed.
May get Fired or will get fired? See if they were part of a collective bargaining type of agreement they would know? Maybe they should stick together and create a collective bargaining group so they would know.
