according to Fortune, "Verizon workers to begin receiving payments from a $400 million union fund this week?" Really, because we have not even seen the meager $200 strike relief check for this week. My husband is loosing $1200 per week in salary and he can't even get his $200? He is picking up 2 jobs to cover a portion of our bills but even working 2 full time jobs will not get him close to his Verizon salary. I am also working 2 jobs and yet...as of this weekend we will be in the black. I'm sorry but I don't see this bringing Verizon to their knees...I'm sure the union reps are going without pay...why are you not meeting around the clock like you've done in prior years? This is one big bad nightmare and it's making me mentally and physically sick.

I live in queens, union wont let me picket verizon wireless store 5 min from my house.
I work in the bronx it takes a hour to get there. My union demands i show up there everyday or they are not giving me my picket money
Ask the PAC funds to give back the 52% of your dues paid to them. That should be a good shot in the arm for relief.
Do you for one moment think the IBEW & CWA Presidents / Vice Presidents / Business Managers / etc. are giving up there salaries. Other than a handful or donuts or a pizza pie from some other Union, there is "Zero" support for this strike. When was the last time Hillary or Donald mentioned it or showed up at a rally. Bernie is the only person and that is because he needs support for a campaign that has a lot in common with the Unions, old news. People need to go find new jobs, because this will be a long stike and when the unions do come crawling back, they will have failed their membership becaise there will be no jobs.
But I thought the union was a brotherhood. Surely people wouldn't blow off picket duty???

Face facts, the Union is undermanned in the brain power category. It is Week 4, and they still don't have their shat together.

Let's think about this. Where does the money come from for the strike fund? Answer: The Union Members, and the Union Reps won't let the people who put into it receive any unless you picket. Sounds like forced labor to me which pays below minimum wage.

No picket duty for me. They want 40 hour week. Commute cost $150 per week.Union wants to pay $300 then taxed? Side job $200 cash 3 days a week. Soon they will have no picketers.
It's not a punishment, you picket you get paid. People will fill in if you can't. If you have a kid over 18 send them.
