Ok when the strike ends , how long do you think the animosity will last???
I can't see this company functioning well as the strike drags on. A lot of bitter people on both sides?

I'll hate unions for the rest of my life after this and hope they lose every single strike they attempt.

Unions are losing their grip, it's not like the 20's and beyond when they meant something in this country. In these days they are not needed and they're afraid. VZ does not want to work with Unions anymore so if I was a member, I would cross and go back to work because eventually VZ will cut the cord and everyone will be jobless. This side of the business is old and VZ wants to sell it off just like the rest of the country. GET BACK TO WORK guys, it's not worth it anymore.
They all exist but a lot of them you just haven't seen yet. You haven't heard about the pole on the house? Where have you been? That one was a picture and a new video came out today with a group of clueless scabs letting a pole swing like a stick on a rope out in the road. The scabs with the knives was posted last night and they were arrested for menacing in Massapequa, NY. It doesn't matter who takes the video because the tape doesn't lie and I doubt you'll find any strikers with magical Hollywood video editing capabilities so you can throw that one out of your denial list. Fact of the matter is that the highly trained scab force is largely a group of know-nothing gypsy failures and the EWA don't have the fortitude to last.
Company slugs spreading propaganda. The union will be gone but not by this contract. This crap is nothing but scare tactics. Losers

@txw I have yet to see anything about a pole falling on a house or ewars threatening Union people with knives except on this site.. If any of this happened there would be a video since picketers follow the workers around all the time... Playing the victim is not a good look..
The union goofballs who have a problem with those who cross are the same people who always seem to find something to get pissed about. They are miserable with themselves and take it out on others. That sort of attitude doesn't belong at Verizon. They can go be a thorn in someone else's side. What a bunch of crybabies who need to get over themselves.
These pictures and videos are post by union employees. And the viewers are most likely the union employees themselves, union brothers and sisters, their families and friends. Look at the number of views of these videos on YouTube is only 26k at most. Cry me a river.😭
There are old timers still mad about 1989 and that was a resounding victory. What do you think the culture will be like after this strike? More and more videos come out everyday with these scabs screwing things up - dropping poles, threatening picketers with knives, ladders falling off of trucks. None of it is hearsay because pictures and videos are all over social media even if the news completely ignores it. All of this just causes anger with both the general public and their own established workforce which is a concept totally over the heads of those in the Basking Ridge ivory towers. The best and brightest minds? Hardly, only used car salesmen with silver tongues.
The scabs that crossed are sure to have miserable careers for the rest of their tenure at Verizon once everything is all said and done.
There's the empty threats we know and love from our unions. And you wonder why membership is declining so fast.
That's if you make it back to Syracuse. NYC isn't going to be forgiving with strike breakers off the street
I start orientation/work Monday. Flight and hotel already booked and paid, orientation is paid $27 in advance. After 6-7 hr orientation they pay us for 8 hrs and we can negotiate contract from there. Interviewer SD I should get $28/hr for 90 day probation, then $30/hr after that. 6 days a week 12 hr days, with 'no reason to think this temp position won't become full time down the road. All negotiated before signing on w/stiff penalties for breach. The only part that sucks is I have to work in NYC for 1st 90 days before I can return to Syracuse for the rest of the contract. She didn't make it sound like she thought union would return or cross in any large numbers.

It really doesn't matter what harsh language you use because the one who does not accept this as truth is the one who is playing russian roulette with your job. If there is any truth on this board, it is this. The union is history at Verizon. You have to be a complete moron to not see this fact.
There will not be any more "sides". You have to see that this union is going to be busted and it will not exist after the strike ends. All of you on strike are going to be replaced. This is not rumor or propaganda, it is the harsh truth and most everyone reading this knows it to be true. The only question which looms, is what will you, you as an individual and not you as the union, do about it? Do you want to work from Verizon or are you content with looking for employment elsewhere! You need to make a decision and the time to make it is now. You have to see the writing on the wall. You cannot deny that this union is not going to exist at Verizon after the strike is over. If you think anything else, you are naive. Make your decision. This is the only question you have to answer which will determine your future.
Union will not be coming back so that is your answer.
"when the strike ends" there's your first mistake right there. But if the union folds and IF the company still has spots for the strikers, those that come crawling back won't last six months. They think they had it bad before ?

though my ewa duty has been pretty easy, I am appalled at the treatment my friends (both bau and ewa) have had to endure.
if I climb the career ladder in front of me, I will be in a position that will have me negotiating with the unions. that is, if the unions exist after this.
I will probably remember the union members actions in 2016 as I walk to the table.
My animosity is directed toward union even knowing they lost they still keep hurting workers when I get back if I do then I will quit union I won't cross but never will I let them have power again
