Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What is coming is what is required; Class Warfare and National Strike.

The reality; it is workers versus owners.

They started this fight not us.

Capitalism is literally destroying the earth.

Only Cancer grows forever, and it destroys it's host.

People are waking up slowly, it will not be an easy fight.

Company cheerleaders; you are either the entitled class or their brainwashed Walking Dead there is likely no hope for you!

I was like you once, then I realized it was not the people below me who are the problem. I hope you will wake up like did, probably you will not.

As a union member stuck in this Communist organization for 30 years, I can only surmise that those espousing Socialism here which is Communism lite, were either stoned in history class or just not present. Begging for Govts to control just about every aspect of you life. Some of you really are special needs I swear.

And when you get to the top you steal from the rest of your subordinates. The problem with executives pay is, you are not worth 242x the worker bees. I don't care how hard you've worked, you are not worth that much. To accuse people who make less in one year than the man at the top does in 2 days is a disgrace. You my sir are a piece of sh--. Your parents did a horrible job raising you and should be ashamed of themselves. I feel sorry for you, your family and anyone who thinks like you. You talk about entitlement and you reak of hypocrisy. Please go jump off a bridge.

Not greed. We decide to go into a well paying profession that will provide us and our families the standard of living we seek. Whether it be Verizon or Shell or Google or Costco. Then we work our asses off to get there. Capitalism at its finest. We chose corporate over union because we believe in the roots of capitalism.

And why do you, the scum at the top, always feel that we are not hard workers? It's an insult to everyone who gets up and busts their assevery day. Who are you to decide that what we do isn't worth sh-- because your in charge. Just remember that greed is a deadly sin.... Karma is also a bitch!

Company cheerleaders: entitled class?? Hell no. We earned our way to the top. You don't just wake up one day with a six figure salary. You earn it. You aren't entitled to it. Capitalism at its best. Show me one society where socialism has succeeded. I'll wait until the world ends. Show me one society where capitalism has succeeded: look at the US. 240 years ago: a rogue nation, separating from the Brits. Now: the strongest nation in the world (for now). We didn't get here by entitlement. We got here through hard work.

this is not capitalism...this is corporationism...big difference...a true capitalist would recognize the need for good jobs and a healthy tax base in order for them to sell more products, etc...corporationists only care about the next nickel jump in stock price, how they can fvvck the worker out of his job, salary and benefits and how to justify paying some ahole hatchet man $18 million a year to do its dirty work

Sadly such methods become necessary to push back. The world belongs to all of us, it is not a work-farm for the corporate elite.

Just wondering, who all do you think should strike? All workers? So private and public workers all strike. Now, nobody is working. What will this accomplish? Anything at all other than chaos? If everyone is on strike how will you even get your "message" out to the world? All the media outlets will be closed since, you know, their workers are on strike. You'd just cause all the bad parts of a zombie apocalypse with out giving us the thrill of seeing zombies...

Capitalism creates jobs, not destroys them. Now if it's new jobs that you're not skilled in, I suggest you further educated yourself to fill those jobs that are in high demand.

Capitalism has perhaps done some good in some situations, but it is not what the human race needs to save ourselves and our planet from the future that is coming if we do not act.

Imagine what we could accomplish if we remove the obscene profit motive that constrains our greatest minds from true innovation and problem solving on a global scale.

The Professor is correct; we are returning to the age of the Robber Barons.

Class War is coming, the question is will the powers that be make us do it the easy way or the hard way.

This goes beyond the issue of Verizon attempting to break the Union, although that is emblematic of the struggle of our time.

I am educated enough to recognize someone who is rationalizing being on the wrong side. You will notice there is no mention of the word Union in my post. Nevertheless it is quite clear that whatever criticisms can be made of Unions, they are by far the lesser evil in comparison with a company like Verizon.

Mr educated your wrong about your interpretation of crony capitalism. And if you think everything was fine in this country until progressives and socialist which have little if any voice in this age you're wrong. I challenge you to educate yourself and learn about the guided age and the robber barons and how capitalism needs regulation because we as a society cannot be trusted when people up top have too much power and influence.

The Professor

Crony Capitalism is destroying society, not Capitalism.

Unions are part of crony capitalism because like government, they try to dictate how a company should run.

This Country was built on Capitalism and has been running fine until the Progressives (new communists), and other socialists.

Go educate yourself.
