After the lack of support from the shareholders, looks like the unions are both done. When shareholders overwhelmingly vote for Lowell and company, appears they support the way he is handling the strike.

All the hype this week has been around the support of the shareholders and how this meeting was going to be a huge statement of union support against corporate greed. Now that every single item was defeated soundly with the biggest news headline reading defeat and members being hauled off by the cops, all of a sudden it's no big deal and you can't pay any attention to those results. Best case scenario is mediation or contract signature in the very near future. Anything beyond that just blows through individual bank accounts for no upside. The stock is still almost 10% up since January so there has been no impact of a strike. Maybe over time it will drop a point or two, so what. It would climb again as growth is achieved in other areas. Vz is a global company and expanding into international markets every day so it continues to minimize the relevance and impact of any single market or region. Even if a large % of the wireline customer base got mad and canceled (very unlikely)...it's not like that would bankrupt the Company because the entire base is such a small percentage of Net Income. The network that supports Wireless isn't going to cancel. Executive pay for both Vz and union are in tact. The losers are strikers and EWA and it will get worse every day until this is over. Rant over...out.

OP Your not seriously taking into account a shareholders vote. You obviously don't know how this works. Lowell's victory is not that great, Kim Jong Un in North Korea got 100% of the vote. So there.

You were smart enough to figure out your hands were tied at the sharholder meeting but you guys should have been smart enough to figure out your hands were tied for the strike when you only have ownership over a fraction of the revenue.
Stock will jump when the Union dies. Its good for the union employee as well since their retirement funds have 1.3 billion $ worth of Verizon stock.
When the top 1% own 90% of the shares, it is impossible for the bottom 99% with only 10% of the shares to get anything accomplished at that meeting. We will see next year when the Board realizes how much business has been lost because of the strike and how the "Verizon" brand name is in the gutter because of the strike. And do not believe Bobby Smudge about the work is being covered. Anyone waiting for a Fios install is being told it will be done after the strike. And repair jobs are being closed out left and right without even dispatching someone out. Just more 'cooking" the numbers which is B usinees A s U sual !
