One is that Verizon needs the Union to work for Verizon and the strike is affecting customers to a point where they are bleeding revenue and must give into Union demands, thus ending the strike.
The other is that while the strike does pose issues in the short term for Verizon, ultimately they have enough resources to resolve those gaps and keep revenue losses manageable.
Logically speaking, Verizon doesn't need the union workers. They just have to hire replacements.
The law prevents VZ from hiring perm replacements while the union is on strike. So their hands are tied for the time being.
I agree. It's gotten totally out of hand. The abuse that EWA workers have endured crossing the lines each morning is horrendous. I'm appalled at the way our union employees act. I know I used to be somewhat sympathetic to them, but no more. They have created this mess, and I hope it sinks them all.
There is so much hate in tension right now, I am not sure things can ever be repaired.
