Why you union people just don't get it? It is not about landline is dying or not. Verizon needs less people to do the maintenance for landline. End of story.

"Wireline is dying" is just a clever euphemism for "POTS is dying." Yeah no sh--, we know POTS is dead and mainly services fax machines, alarm systems, life line systems, and little old ladies. No one is disputing that. Wireline is also FiOS, data circuits, and the entire backbone of the magic cellular network and that is in fact healthier than ever.
Why does the bigwigs pay come from wireline revenue? Why does wireless capital spending come from wireline revenue? Why does the corporate jet come from wireline revenue? Why have there been fees added to your phone bills for years to build the state of the art fiber network? Could it be to make wireless look way more profitable than wireline?

Wireline is a tiny line item? Really how tiny? No, IOT is tiny at $195 million. AOL is tiny at $25 million

This idiotic company has the makings of going the way of AT&T. It will evenutually spin or divest from both wireline and wireless and end up an 'entertainment company' which will fail. The name will end up being bought by a Frontier. Lowmac is real assclown.
The shareholders understand what a pain in the assa union can be. I can assure you they will support any plan that includes phasing out the union and replacing them with employees who want to be here.
