Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Verizon thinks of today and not of the future.

As you all know, Verizon doesn't think of the future. They dont think of the future when they don't offer a decent retirement standard of living to it's employees. The Union thinks about NOW and about the Future. Verizon thinks about NOW and how to fill the pockets of the big guys.

They think about now and how much they can get out of their workers with no thought of you in the end.

They are asking you to perform a job just for now, and in the end they will not give you what they give the workers when they come back.

Be easy on the OP. He was raised with the expectation that if he did his time on the job that the company would take care of him forever after.

If VZ is so bad, why not find a different job?

OP,

Welcome to 2016.

Time for you to take responsibility for yourself.

Put money into your 401K.

It is not VZ responsibility to take care of you.

And, this is long term thinking.

Verizon thinks only of today? Seriously? Then explain to me why so many union employees exhaust all of their vacation time every year before MLK day even gets here, then use all their FILA time until it's exhausted, and then have nothing left when something comes up and they really need the time, but would have had it if theyes planned ahead for the future.

Classic example of hello pot, this is the kettle!

The management style is literally known as greedy management (no pun intended) basically it forgoes long term focus in return for short term gains hoping to string those gains along.
