While we can argue back and forth that the profits of wireline do not affect wireless - a wireline strike WILL affect wireless profits. Customers are jumping ship to other carriers as company issues come to light.

The company is making a killing on wireless....... Wire line while barely supported by lazy union slobs actually cost the company more money than it makes.. Wake up and smell yourself.

WIRE LINE is dying faster than the dinosaurs did.

75k to answer the phones? 90k to work 5 TT's a day. Oh yeah, those jobs are getting outsourced but not out of the country. There just moving them to a lower income per capita "Right to Work" state. {FACT}

If your so good than please justify yourself. Please! Tell me about your college degrees or certs in IT.

you are over paid and over compensated. But the one that kills me the most is hearing you talk about job security. I wanna be guaranteed a job in 10 years. LMAO This aint 1955 anymore. Its called competition and the best make the best. Not whine for it. Unions in America are slowly becoming the dinosaur of todays job force.

@cdk yeah I do have It in writing. Original ny daily news advertisement dates February 12, 1990. Held on to it for nostalgia sake, may need it for a lawsuit now.

@adw - if they whined and pissed and moaned aboutevery little thing. If and were lazy and only worked two out of 8 hours a day. If they never realized that company profits paid their salary. Then we would hate them too.

I am switching between the hockey game and the baseball game tonight - it looks like every player is giving it their all. I doubt if you ever have given it your all.

THis is what I can't grasp. Reps, the one's who answer the phone and treat the customers like they are doing them a favor have a base pay of $75K...Look around highest paid reps in the country. You have both a pension and a 401k. BOTH. Many of you take 30 "sick" days per year. Most of you are void of a college degree even though Verizon would pay you to get one.

You are being mistreated ?

Guy's please get back to work. It's 2016 and time has changed. You won't get this kind of deal anywhere else

Because we when we were hired we were promised a good job with medical, a retirement after 30 yrs and a pension. We invested years of our lives based on that. We got married, bought houses, had kids knowing if you did your job you were safe raising a a family and would be ok in your retirement years.

We only want what we signed up for. This is not a company in trouble, this a company who won't put a product out to their customers while accepting tax grants and customer rate increases to fund it it, reneges on their promisees to the public and then tells their employees that they are no longer needed be because they are not genrating enough revenue. It's the epitome of corporate greed.

That's it in abridged terms.

Sad state of affairs from 3rd level wIreline manegement to craft union employees. Even sadder for those who are 10 years away from being able to accept an early retirement offet.

Many are sacrificing their families. They are blowing through their savings and borrowing from 401k. Who in their right mind would do that working for Wireline who will be dead within the next 5 years. Please!

Why do workers who HATE the company so much, want so desperately to work for it, even to the point of sacrificing their families? I've never been able to connect the dots on that one.
