Lowell has earned his salary about the same a powerball winner earns theirs....dumb luck. He just happened to catch the wireless wave on the west coast at its early days. If saying yes and delegating are bold leadership skills, then he's a star.
No CEO should make more than 13x the lowest paid employee.
@ wep, that was an excellent explaination. You can argue all you want, CEOs and Executives don't deserve their salaries. Anyone can delegate tasks and make PR speeches, that isn't a one of a kind talent you know.
Because an athelete has a talent. People would not go to see the redsox if not for big papi. Or see the lakers if not for kobe. Beyonce can dance people pay to see a good dancer. People would still buy verizon products if lowell left and a guy who is a retired art teacher took over. total profits would not be the same for boston without big papi he puts people in seats so he deserves some of the reward. You ask a 12yr old kid who the ceo of verizon is and he wont know nor will he care. And that my friend explaines why a ceo could be a dime a dozen and dont deserve their pay
