Coal miners working 7 days a week for pennies die young from black lung or methane or being crushed or plain exhaustion .children 5 years old working in mills getting caught in machines they would fall asleep and get mangled . Workers spending n g entire life working for company end their days homeless and living in cardboard boxes,that is why we have unions however I believe the unions have forgotten their purpose we have a new generation of mill bosses they hide under the name of executives ,for all working people not just union why do we insult and deride each other you have to realize who the real enemy is .to the execs we are just numbers on a spread sheet once they have stripped verizon of every viable asset they just like parasites will move on .I think the time of the Mollie Maguire is close at hand ,the only eventual outcome for the way the rich are ruining us is to fight

Blah, blah blah. So we have a union because we're jealous of the company executives? What about the union fatcats? They get all the dues and give half of it away to politicians and then use most of the rest for themselves. That's fair? No one cares about me and mine more than I do, so I will control my destiny from here on out.
with corporations waging war on ALL of its employees, unions are needed more now than ever before IMO...politicians won't help...sheepish voters won't help...while the CEO collects millions and wall street smiles the worker scrapes by
Unions as legal entities didn't exist back in early days, it was all wildcat strikes and rank and file organizing by average workers. The modern Union didn't make an appearance until elites decided the only way they could control workers was to channel them into "legal" organizations where members paid dues. Once money entered the picture, the corrupt union bosses like Hoffa made a nice living while gradually selling Union members down a river.

Don't be so sure about what is unlawful it doesn't seem to take much nowadays to have laws changed or modified , when we send work overseas do you think they have the same labor laws we do just because we don't have children working in mills in the USA doesn't mean other countries don't and the big corporations have no problem exploiting cheap labor for their profits .we shouldn't exploit these countries we need to keep our core values and keep work in the US where it can be lawful
All of those things are unlawful now so why do you still need the unions? The vast majority of workers seem to have no need for them whatever.
