Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

When does it end?

Now that we are into May, does anyone want to take another guess at how long this thing lasts?

I thought that maybe 5/1 would be a turning point but it looks like that didn't happen. I really don't see anything on the horizon that could force either hand besides Union members running out of money/EWA'ers running out of patience.

Anybody have thoughts?

How about workers stop vilifying one another. ALL workers are being taken for granted , and it's time that the workers, union and Non-Union rally and demand more from all companies. Verizon is greedy and they have a right to be, but workers have every right to be greedy as well, as they are part of Verizon and it's success. As a non-Unionized worker, I constantly fight for my wage to be increased to market rate, despite getting turned down by Comp. but I'm not going to be jealous of unionized workers getting more, they are only preserving the benefits our grandparents fought for and we forgot they had.

It will end when one of two things occur:

  1. Employees decide to be loyal to the one who pays their check instead of to a bunch of union fatcats

or

  1. The company hires enough temps and contractors to take over

It amazes me the level of disloyalty of people in this company. They said screw you to the company and the customers. I guess they will go hungry now. It's a real shame. Lots of good folks throwing it all away for a union that doesn't give a crap about them.

THE END WAS JUST DELIEVERD BY MR. MUDGE. UNION LOST AGAIN, THIS TIME THE LAST TIME.

It will end when members are tired of the unions b.s. and they are in financial ruins. It will end when have to cross the lines in order to take care of their families. God, Family, Country. Union is not in there. Yes it's a good cause for the country but family first. If the union is a family then it needs to put its members first before it's agenda of saving the country.

Sad thing is, the company nor the union leaders could care less. It's the workers, both union and EWA, that are taking it hard and dry. We are the ones suffering, meanwhile they fiddle while Rome burns.
