Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Go back to work and be glad you have a job at all.

Have union workers ever heard of outsourcing? I wish the union employees would shut up and go back to work. Be happy you have a job.

At least the union wants to expand FIOs while the company wants to shrink it down and Dutch wireline completely, foolishly laying all of their chips on wireless, go90, aol and yahoo. The union wants to secure job security in building out FIOS, it is plain to see the execs don't want that, which means you wireline managers are also in danger of a job loss/no job security as well. By extension, the union is representing you too. I guess you can always apply to be a Verizon Wireless manager instead if you get tired of the sweatshop conditions on the wireline side.

Eff you! We are not happy to have jobs that are not convenient for us. We are not happy to have jobs where they have gutted our healthcare by asking us to pay for part of it -- we deserve to have FREE healthcare.

And we both our 401k and Pension to be UNLIMITED. They are wanting to GUT our pension by capping it at 30 days. We are entitled to have our pension with NO LIMITS.

And they want to be able to close down call centers on a whim just because the call centers are big and only have a few people working in them. They should not be able to close down call centers unless WE give them permission!

These are only a few examples of the horrors we have to work with. Every single day we have to live with this stuff. It is a SWEAT SHOP that cares about none of us! We deserve to have jobs that cater to our HAPPINESS and give us the money and healthcare we need FOREVER.

I will fight for my freebies and job security FOREVER!!!!

Then so be it, I know many others like myself have a contingency plan and will find other employment when push comes to shove while you remain under the greedy thumb of not having a life and working in sweatshop conditions. Let them bring them in, I welcome it.

I don't think you get it. If we work 2 months then you are no longer worth bringing back bc by that time your job was contracted out. That is the definite plan.

No contract. No work. Enjoy the next two months of working your life away while having no time for yourself or your families. CWAers are enjoying a much needed extended break from the sweatshop conditions you are currently experiencing.
