This goes to both EWA and the union employees. The reality is that non union have benefitted from collective bargaining agreements. Union employees need to acknowledge they don't have magical unlearnable skills. Fact is there is a surplus of people that can perform these tasks.
EWA existing knowledge translate well to inside jobs. Doughy office workers are struggling. Contractors WITH skills and experience will be the stop gap. Look at the media...there are no headlines that vz elimated healthcare for 100k employees.
vz is another media company with Beau coup advertising dollars. vz is a partner with the government. In the court of public opinion the vz offer is better than what vast majority of what most Americans have.
This is the seed of resentment and the sense of entitlement leaves a bad taste in people's mouth.
The fact is Wall St and investment bankers love union busting. On both sides..stop be douche bags. Everyone is going to get screwed.
Please stop thinking that the backlash is coming. impasse and contingency plans are in the works. The timeline and agenda has been set for a union free company to be sold or bartered.
I understand you thought this was going to be the last job you ever had. That is something worth fighting for. It's admirable you rather go out with a fight rather than fizzle out with attrition or a merger/sell off.
The free agents currently with a ewa are not ignornant if the rifs. Our relationship with vz is a fling. Not a marriage expecting life long support. Chanting rif and you are being used and you're a shill is comical.
Screaming at the ewa managers is misdirected. Do you think they call and email Lowell? It's a joke now. A big expensive joke.
Good luck and I hope you get what's fair.
