Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

The VZ Top Management is winning by pitting the Union employees against the average management employee.

Please realize that you are both nothing and nobody for the top management. They do not and will not care about you when it comes time to cut. So stop hating each other and putting out the venom on this site. Fight the real enemy.

Very well said. Totally the way it is. And I bet most of the union would agree. It's always some minority of people in any group that try to use everyone else to further their idiotic agenda. Doesn't matter whether it's war, politics, or commerce.

"The underdog UNION is surprisingly kicking Verizon's entitled ass

Let's analyze how you guys are doing for what you are sacrificing (pay, benefits, at this point prob your job too)

  1. Strike impact on vz stock and shareholder confidence - Negligible based on current value of stock

  2. Media coverage on strike - go ahead and google verizon in the news. Very few articles from mainstream sources. Hmmm thats not good. Oh, hey theres a new article today on it though! I wonder what it is about! Oh.

  1. A fair contract - You guys did manage to get the execs to make a few concessions. But now you are playing chicken with an 18 wheeler in your 96 prism.

strike tactics from 1910 would be scabs getting murdered in the streets.

Strike tactics in 2016 are political pressure and P.R. It is all about timing. The underdog UNION is surprisingly kicking Verizon's entitled ass How much longer till there is a new CEO at Verizon?

Verizon may even have to change their name after this!

Unfortunately since you employ strike tactics from 1910 a resurgence, at least for the CWA at VZ, is out of the question since your only hope was to get vzw on board but since you are idiots and chose to harass them and impact their commissions as your tactic 98% of them now despise the cwa.

@yip

I would LOVE if there was a resurgence of Unions in this country! Sounds great to me!

I would LOVE if there was a NATIONAL STRIKE and all you office toads found out who does the real work in this country!

I would love if there was a REVOLUTION and all the Pig Rich Crooks destroying this country and pissing on the good working folks were thrown in prison! Not country club prison either..send them to the real place where they will have to fight for their lives!

I'm non-union and I signed a contract with vz as well. What is your point?

Oh f--- off on your high and mighty fighting for jobs bs. The contract you sh-- over had plenty of job security provisions for the next 2 years. You guys are just as greedy as Lowell. Imagine if your landscaper asked you to sign a contract guaranteeing his job for the next 3 years. How would you react? I won't be here in 5 years, I will find a better job, and you can bet your assyou wont be here either. The union needs to stop blindly listening to their leaders, they dont care about this contract, they are using this strike to try to start a movement that will lead to a resurgence of unions in this country at your expense while they still have full pay and benefits from your dues.
