Most of the EWA folks are not frightened of a RIF. I've survived many of them, and if I get hit I can get a job at 100 other companies. In fact, some of us wouldn't mind getting riffed so we can bank the big severance and work somewhere else.

I don't know why RIFs are so scary to you folks. Do you not feel you can work anywhere else?

EWA's will be the first to go-someone is doing your job now; don't you realize when you go back you'll have nothing to do?

OP..There will be no more layoffs till after the strike you jackass. Come back here after the strike ends, I am sure some layoff talk will start up again after that.

The only news I have is that hubs got a second letter from Verizon offering to help him be declared disabled. Why thank you so much Verizon. Why don't you just send us the money you are spending on that team. That would be more helpful since he just had a physical that declared him healthy. I am curious if others are getting the same letters or is it just the over 50 crowd? And I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard that until the EWAs get back the lucky employees that haven't been laid off - yet - get paid for their overtime instead of working that extra 10 to 20 hours a week for free.
