Not everyone can tolerate the stressful conditions of doing scab work during a strike. If you are feeling excessively stressed out to the point where it is affecting your health, your work or your personal safety, you should call out sick and consult with a mental health professional. FMLA leave can cover stress as well, it is tricky to apply for it, but there is no question working in a situation where you feel afraid or threatened is not good for your health.

I thought Verizon cared about their employee's health. That is what they say in their emails.

Seriously if you forced-to-scab EWA workers do not feel safe doing something, nobody can force you to do it! Just tell them you do not feel safe.

Fear of heights for example is a legitimate issue that many people have.

If you develop any physical or mental health problems that prevent you from doing the scab work you are being forced to do you should call out sick and see a physician. FMLA is the law of the land, they don't have to pay you, but it is your right to use FMLA for any condition that prevents you from being able to do your job.

If the company discriminates against you for FMLA you can sue them.
