Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

In the end...

The union will get a better deal then what's on the table now

All the EWAs will feel they have been sh--ted on and sold out by the vz execs plus a lifetime of nightmares and stress from this strike

It's happened before. Trust me. In the end the vz execs will make a business decision

Remember 1989? They swore the union would never come back until they paid for medical. Even while they knew they had agreed to the union toward the end of the strike they still told their managers to keep working hard 12 hours a day because we will beat the unions.

Bottom line: never trust management

So where is the so called the true last best offer from the company? No. There is only one last offer and the company will stick to the offer until Union accept it. Otherwise they would have accept union's proposal on Friday or given you guys a better offer before end of April.

It doesn't matter what year it is. The result is the same. The higher ups will lie to you (EWAs) knowing that they made a better deal with the unions.

They do this to keep you busting your assfor their cause.

This is 1989 all over again and it will have the same results. Historically the company needs a square kick in the nuts every 15 - 18 years. The next big one should be around 2032 or so.

As an EWA, I feel the company has a set of nuts asking professionals to do tech fieldwork. I was hired to provide a specialized skill to Verizon, I was never informed that I would need to be a stand in FiOS tech. The training was a nuisance and now 16 days into this, I am really disgusted. I don't need their OT money, I just don't want to do this anymore. Stratton is heartless, so I am not optimistic that this will get resolved any time soon. If it does not, I am not going to bust my assfor this krappy company. The company execs and the union need to resolve this matter, leave me out of it!

As and EWA we are not being told we are working in so they can beat the union. I for one would not be happy to see that.

1989? What's the year right now? 2016! Everything is different. Everybody is moving on but you guys are still living in the past. Union's glory years is gone! You can see it from the shrinking union membership.

In 1989 the Union had thousands more members and customers had only one choice, their landline. Not the same today.
