Yahoo deal in jeapordy, strike will end soon

Got inside info from a very reliable source

Upper vz management very concerned about the length of the strike. Can't make a deal with yahoo for billions while the unions run a corporate greed campaign.

They know that if they complete the deal for yahoo during a strike it will be a very negative reception to the public as well as elected officials. Some who are running for president.

At the same time they can't let the yahoo deal slip away. Yahoo people are getting impatient and ready to walk. The ceo of yahoo stands to collect about 55 million dollars from this deal.

They know the unions will pounce all over that one. How can you pay 55 million to one more CEO while your workforce is out on the streets.

Look for a much better contract for the unions by the end of the week...

We should stay out, maybe that's the only way to stop McAdams bad decisions

Idiotic and uniformed?

Not

If anything it shows the disconnect from those on the top to the average working guy

Debt is not a bad thing. VZ has a plan to pay it off. It was a we. Thought out business decision to use debt and cash to get 100% control of VzW. They can borrow billions more, if needed.

hud , Lend???? Who would lend anyone 10 bil when they are 130 bil in the hole. The union is a small problem compared to that.

What an idiotic, uninformed post. If they buy Yahoo during the strike, it reiterates the future vision of the company and that the wireline business and its workers are a thing of the past.

I doubt the strike has any bearing on the yahoo deal at all. Apples and Oranges.

M&A is not something that sways or is swayed by people worrying about corporate greed. The strike is not nearly as important to Lowell or anyone else in this world as some of you would like to believe.

The people who truely care about the strike would be pissed if Yahoo was purchased while we are one strike. The other 99% of the world, just like Verizon, could not care less.

I would not count on that. Those with the money to lend to VZ over this deal are not concerned in the least about the wireline issue. Verizon could very easily spin this off as a REIT next week if they want.
