Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Some CWA members are an embarrassment to our unity

CWA Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfills the same function as pain of not achieving the next contract, It calls attention to the unhealthy state of our CWA structure, but Verbal abuse , vulgar profanity by Union members is regrettable. The Decline Of Unions Is A Middle Class Problem which obviously invokes the lack of education and good manners, it goes beyond the job, family and values, to those OP's please take a good look, you know who you are!

I used to feel sorry for union people but after the crap I hear and the threats made to me,no longer do I care about you at all. Im not going to stoop down to your wives jokes, threats and eveerything else. A lot of us management all feel the same. You lost all respect as decent people.

qfm - there are vile posts on here from both sides. It's a two way street.

You get respect when you give respect.

It's amazing to me that people on both sides are so repulsive at such an early stage in the game. A tually, it's not amazing. This board was the same useless, insult-ridden site well before the strike.

I hope whoever runs this site has it up for some kind of human psychology study they're conducting, because otherwise, it serves absolutely no purpose in LIFE and for that they should feel like a failure. Alternatively, said website admin could start working to improve the site and make it something of value to humankind. I suspect that was his/her initial intention but he/she let it get carried away.

I have read some really vile things on here as well, from both sides. The union is mad at Lowell and executive management, yet their strike isn't hurting them. It's hurting themselves and their non-union co-workers. EWA staff are required to cover. It's not their choice and yes the money is nice, but so is being home with family. Union are trying to present a unified front but at night they are just like us. They love their families and worry about their kids, benefits, mortgage, etc. But instead of aiming at the real cause of the issue (Exec Leaders), we take it out on each other. We are hurting ourselves while the real culprits are remaining unscathed. I don't support the strike, but I do wish our union co-workers well and have no ill-will towards them. It's getting ugly, and none of us look too good right now.

OP, you need to take a step further back and read what the non union employees are saying, hoping, and praying for the union employees.

@qfm is EXACT right. They are praying we become destitute.

I agree that people shouldn't be so heartless and show what miniscule sense of humanity exists, but don't even THINK about laying all the blame on one side. There is every bit an equal display of vile filth on this board.

I think EVERY ONE who posts the garbage is misdirecting their anger, and most people are too self absorbed to see it, and so, like children who don't know how to understand and intelligently express emotion, they lash back wih similarly horrific statements. And we now have this 100% useless website where humans can show just how pathetic we really are.

EVERYONE shold be directing their anger to the CEO and the fuksticks in Basking Ridge and quit withing that average citizen become jobless, homeless, family-less, and for the love of God stop telling people their wives are performing crude acts while their at work. It's ridiculous. This board really should be shut down.

Are you kidding? You have management on here rejoicing that people have lost their health insurance!

Hoping people will lose their homes.

The most vile comments on here are all from anti-union posters.

Does the company care about any of this?

NO

They only care if the union can be blamed somehow.

In fact it is upper management who have created this atmosphere...where is it all leading? What will happen when you create a work environment like this? Is it healthy? Is it safe?
