Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

How much money has Verizon spent on print and radio ads in this PR war???

Anyone have a good guess? Alone, the cost of sending their summary of the contract by FedEx Standard Overnight must have come close to half a million.

If I'm looking at this right, Standard Overnight is $15.50 for an 8 oz envelope. Multiply by 39,000 and you get $604,500 not including the cost of materials and man hours to print out 39,000 copies. That's at least 5 jobs right there if you accept the $130,000 wage/benefit claim.

The union's lack of salary expense gave the company room to shift expenses that are more productive and beneficial.

Don't worry, I'm sure it comes right off the top of the landline losses for the quarter.
