Honest question. There's a small handful of us in my local (MD) that just don't give a rats assabout making a statement or playing some game of corporate cat and mouse, we just want a paycheck. Both of these guys are greedy and power hungry. I just want to pay my bills and hang onto the $$$ we made over the past year, not piss it away on Shelton's ego or Lowell's...

Just an FYI, just as each employee has a legal right to participate in a strike, and the company can not penalize you in any way for this job action, the reverse is also true. You have a legal right not to participate in a strike and the union can not penalize you in any way. When the strike is over, the Union must protect you as they would any other union member, they can be sued by the NLRB if they do not. Also, no harassment from other union members on your decision to cross would be tolerated by either the company or the union, because again, it is your legally protected right not to participate in a job action if you so desire not to. It does not matter if it is a right to work state or not. It may be unpopular with some, but do not fear any reprocusions, because there will not be any. Any of the blow hardship on here trying to intimidate you, are just internet bullies hiding behind anonymity and would be scared to death to say even 1% to your face that they spout off on here. I am not saying cross, there is strength in solidarity, but in the end, you must do what you feel is best for you and your family. This is the whole reason it was made legal (for both sides). God speed to a quick resolution for this conflict.
So go back, no great loss. And when we come back, and we will. You get to go find a different line of work. NO one will work with you. If you cant make it a few months why bother.

The Union never did anything for me. Every time I called they would never return a phone call. Screw the Union. Never stood behind me for anything. I'm giving in my letter tomorrow and I'm going back to work.
Yeah come back and get fired because the union will do nothing for you when you make a small mistake. It's going to happen sooner or later. Crossing is putting faith in the company and I'm not going to do that. You have what you have because of the long fights our retired people fought for.
Many of us here in Silver Spring have crossed! Come on in just make sure you have resigned from that pesky Union with letter in person!
That is exactly it...if you are in a call center or in one of the over staffed areas, such as outside plant you will need to come to grips that life is changing and you may need to consider taking a package to retire, leave the company or to move.
At this point it looks like to me the entire wireline side is bargaining is primarily for the OSP and centers. I hate that anyone would loose a job but quite simply time have changed and we all need to be more flexible.
The union didn't lose anything...if we come back now it's still a good deal....raise....pension....decent health care....sucks if you work in a call center but win some....lose some...
You can cross whenever you want. Remember. Family is the most important thing in your life.
You can go back anytime you want. Just quit the union. Nothing can be done to you.

Do the 2003 and after hires cross the picket lines? They have none of the benefits the union is fighting for. What do they do on Monday? What are they fighting for?
