" Anyway, they are largely ineffective today as a result of PATCO strike, were workers were fired rather than negotiated with."
You do realize that you're referencing a strike by government employees, right?
VZ is not government and McAdam is not Reagan. End of story.
Unions were formed to control workers, not help them. They are state recognized legal entities, created for the sole purpose of stopping wildcat strikes and rank and file worker initiatives. Anyway, they are largely ineffective today as a result of PATCO strike, were workers were fired rather than negotiated with. Lock out and replacing of union workers with non Union ones is modus operandi of corporations, and Verizon is no different. Looking for leaders, whether Union or others, to improve your lot and negotiate on your behalf will always end badly. If you want positive change YOU have to be the one to take action.
@gsi, that was extremely well said. The problem is the union has these people all wriled up and completely in denial. Union members, cross before 20 May or else!!
This just in...
Nobody gives a sh-- about your cause. They say it only takes one person to make a difference. Why is it that 36K people standing strong together couldn't make a difference? Because the second you open your mouths the country's bullshit meter f---ing explodes. Where is Bernie? Where is Hillary? Where are your fearless leaders? Where are the people from other companies that are currently represented by your unions? Where are the people that are retired union? NOBODY CARES ANYMORE. Why do you not see that?!? It's over! And FORTUNATELY for you, you now get the chance to be a true American and EARN your job and EARN your pay and EARN respect where it is due...not have those things bargained for in a contract.
Congratulations, you have been awarded the opportunity to be free to do as you choose, not follow along like some ant carrying a half-eaten leaf down the sidewalk.

What word do you need? We are on strike. See you at picket duty. Same as any strike, you either fight to keep what you have or you cave and give away more. If you truly are a member and not a VZ toad, you should be ready to fight even harder against Verizon and encourage others to join you in the fight.
Best. Post. Ever.
