No they did not. That strike lasted only two weeks and the benefits were never cut off. Same as 2000.
I can't say anything about 1971 - that's way before my time with the company - but this is the first strike that actually saw the cutting of benefits in recent memory...
But, but, but, they didn't take away our benefits when we walked out 27 years ago! Why would they do it now? Well, yeah, they did when we walked off the job just five years ago but we'll ignore the facts we don't like.

All jokes aside, as a union member I have to ask, why is anyone surprised they're canceling our benefits? Pretty sure the deal is, you come to work to earn your rate and any benefits. You don't work, you get nothing.
