Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Mediation? What are we waiting for???

Mediation would cut through all the nonsense and banter to ensure that only reasonable requests are considered. Anything unreasonable for both sides would be discarded. This would get people back to work so more customers aren't lost You know, the people that ultimately pay the salaries so there are jobs for anyone.

you had your chance at mediation, but chose to see yourselves on camera. Now you are going to be locked out and you are f---ed. Good luck because the real world is unkind

The UNION will lead you to no job at all. They will than move on to the airlines or something. Grow up now at least for your familes before you lose your house.

Read this and stop listening to people who are jealous. Don't fall for the company threats. We will win!

The Mediator helps the parties find middle ground, and deal with unrealistic expectations. The Middle ground is a win for Verizon, and a loss for the Unions. When you go into Mediation like Verizon wants to, asking for the loss of jobs...and the Union see's no need for the loss of any jobs, The mediator will find a number for the loss for jobs. Hence Company wins, Union Loses. Again there is No need for any of the proposals the company wants, it's just pure need, which is pure greed. A mediator will just give the company half of it unnecessary greed.

At this point all common sense has left Union headquarters. That is why they do not want mediation, they know their demands are out of line with today's realities and that a mediator will not give them all they want. They have even came out and said so.

Who cares how much Verizon Corp, and Lowell for that matter, has made, how much has wireline made? That is what the Union should be using for their basis of their arguments, but they know they wouldn't get anywheres near what they want should they do that. Their demands are all about them, not the company and definately not for the Union members.

Verizon asked for Mediation, Union rejected. Verizon gave the best final offer, Union rejected. Now you guys want to do Meditation again?! I don't think it is possible.
