4/29: CWA counter, VZ says refer to best and final offer

4/29: VZ & CWA agree to meet 5/2 to discuss acceptance or rejection of best and final offer

5/1: CWA loses insurance&benefits, have to reapply unless contract is ratified by12:00 AM ET 5/1

5/2 and thereafter: Talks can continue but best and final is best and final

5/9: Orientation and 1st day of work for replacement contractors, $25-30/hr + $128 per diem (source:careerbuilder.com)

5/20: If best and final offered on 4/28 is not ratified, job security clause taken out of best and final offer

They don't want us to sign up for Cobra because it's retroactive to May 1. I'm not risking going for emergency medical treatment for one of my kids without a valid medical card...I'm crossing!

They do ask for experience and there are lots of Comcast, time Warner, etc employees who have lost jobs for the exact same reason your job is in jeopardy...old technology. They can't find a job so they are OK with taking yours.

So if I see a job offer, I have the job, nice.

VZ hasn't actually negotiated anything for the most part other than the extra 1% and the job security from the start. They aren't moving. Time to have all union members cancel service and everyone they know switch to another carrier. That's the only shot we have to break tgem.

So are saying there is not a job offer for contractors on careerbuilder.com with an orientation/start date of 5/9 and there's not a clause in the offer for a 5/20 ratification date?

These facts are there to see, are you serious. Verizon is a PR spin machine, remember.

It's not hard to verify. Go to careerbuilder.com. it's there. Look at the offer. 5/20 ratification clause is there. Much of the's sites are filled with speculation but these facts are there for you to see.

From 5/2 and beyond it's pure manure.

The 5/9 sounds realistic. I know at my EWA location two people have already been given notice they will be sent to train contractors in a week.

The original post is not speculation. It's just the milestonesbut lined in the proposal on the table.

5/21 - Verizon caves on a 5 year contract with no givebacks except a slight increase in medical. Lowell McAdams fired.

5/22 - Original poster committed to State Institution after found curled up in a ball muttering about the union.
