To the original poster.........you must be young and dumb! First off, companies don't want older people for a myriad of reasons......they will find a way to get rid of you legally of course. After age 55, cost of medical insurance for you paid by company goes up considerably. Wife worked in a bank for 40 years, prior to 55 cost paid by company per year was around $4000, after 55 that cost went to$13,500. Long story short by age 58 she was no longer employed along with a dozen other over 55 personal bankers. Next..at 40-50-60 age markers you will notice changes in the body, you will see! When I was young , my older co-workers told me what to expect and I laughed. Turns out they where correct. Retired now at 62, suggest you start saving and investing now as a portfolio of $1,000,000.00+ on top of SS income is needed to retire comfortably. Best of luck!
