Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

Layoffs finally announced today

We just found out today that our center (Birmingham, AL) is closing along with Columbia, SC and Pensacola, FL. We have the option of following our job, decision has to be made by 6/24/16 or becoming surplus. Either way it is a big JOKE and the center is scheduled to close on 9/24/16.

Don't think it's a sell off prep. The bellsouth union contract is the most lucrative of all the contracts for its members. In other words it costs most for AT&T. They are trying to get rid of as many people as possible in that contract because they cost the most.

It looks like the southeast region is being gutted because most of the layoffs for the last three quarters seem to come from there. Is southeast being prepped to be sold off?

Those are not DTV owned & operated centers. Must be T sites.

Charlotte, NC has only 19 positions available. Louisville, KY, Jackson, MS, Nashville, TN and a few others have unlimited vacancies. Make your choice. Which one is next?
