RIF, EISP, layoff of all union associates hired after 2003 and then sell off of all remaining landline assets. Good luck to all. Oops.... almost forgot to mention, another $10 million bonus for Lowell.

Past experience with other major corporations......been through this twice, now retired. First they offer a package......if they don't get there "number"....then layoffs occur. It was very difficult to get up and report to the office or customers site, however one has no choice but to tough it out and get the severance package and collect unemployment . If you can retire, you struck pay dirt! Glad to be out of there! Best of luck to all and remember........ I was looking for a job when I found this one! There is life after Verizon!

I'm a Manager and I've not heard anything yet about RIF. We all know it's coming, but I've not heard a timetable, percentage, or anything.

That would be true except the fall RIF was delayed due to strike preparedness. June 30th will be the substitute date for the normal fall RIF. Plan for a summer EISP with the second RIF to follow after summer numbers are in.

EISP, once numbers come down they will consolidate workers by RIF of 1st and 2nd levels. REO has already done it, two or three 1st levels per state, one 2nd level for every region. One director, national.

EISP first, partially because of what cpa said, and partially because once a certain number of associates leave, fewer managers are required.

EISP first. Then RIF depending on how many take the EISP and VZ then figures "we won't have to offset as many non-Union with a RIF because more than enough Union workers took the EISP".
