we were told that because the strike was more than 5 weeks there will be no back-billing of dues
Union will not be collecting dues for the full weeks of strike. I figure 5 weeks they will not be asking for missed contributions.

1 week of Union Dues taken for 3-days of work?
We get our check statement on Tuesday so we already know they took 1 week of dues. Old news.

OP, try again, holy cow are you typing and driving.
They only took out current week's union dues in this week's check.
Payroll tech here...union dues will be taken out for the weeks on strike including missing 401k contributions/flex spending account etc
