Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Why the rush on the RTW?

Because the Union wants us to get back to work so we won't go back out when we see the crap they are shoving down our throats after ratification!

READ the agreement, still deciding on relocation assignment, training , forced OT, performance and monitoring. These are set to be discussed 3 months after RATIFICATION. They are going to change the OT and assignment policies just before the holidays!!!!!!

I want answers before the RTW. How can we ratify and incomplete contract?

It is a tentative agreement, even pointed out by independent analysts that it could change. I want to work too, but I don't want the strike to be for nothing!

The rush? It's time to get back to work... Most people agree, especially independent analysts, that this is a good contract and a "win" for the union. It's ridiculous to think that the union would get 100% of everything they wanted...most people don't have any job security so to have some is huge. The contract is signed by the leadership you voted in...it's not incomplete but details do exist. Your leadership is doing exactly what you elected them to do so deal with it...and enjoy the next few years with a contract, good pay and benefits. Enough is enough.

At least someone else is paying attention. Call center security for 1 year is a "BIG WIN"?

You're right, the language was clear for the NY/NE agreement (at least what we've seen). The mid-Atlantic contract does not have clear language on it and does specifically mention several areas to be decided following ratification.

You have to vote for you, I just think everyone needs to pay attention, especially since the RTW is before we see the final contract.

In district 1 all those this are the same as last contract. The call center jobs are safe and new hires will be brought in. Call center jobs are the main reason we went out. Transferring out of state is off the table already. Go back to work and be happy you still have a job
