Supervisor unemployment training

Any other managers get an invite to attend a training session on how we can help control AT&T's unemployment benefits cost? Seems a little fishy considering the current goings on in the company.

Didn't seem terribly interesting. They covered what types of separation are eligible and what types are not. Talked quite a bit about keeping any documentation of how things occurred. They also said to be careful what you say when separations are occurring.

To be clear, an involuntary surplus separation is eligible for unemployment. If that's truly what happens, the company won't fight it.

I would be interested in what the training covered? It definitely seems fishy and a sly way to try to "get" people who are rightly owed unemployment by the company. My friend in the Missoula site said that she heard (all rumor of course) that the state of Montana is starting to get suspicious with all the claims there coming from such a small area.

Surprise, surprise. AT&T is so horrible. Of course, with all the layoffs and terminations, they don't want to have to pay unemployment. Ugh. Disgusting.

Could you report on what the call or training covers? Would be good info considering my manager just stopped responding to me about everything.
