Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

few months in and already hesitant to stay.

New HPE employe currently in training and i'm talking to my coworkers they are far from "motivated high-tech company employees).

They fear of getting WFR, I heard you can go 4 or 5 years with a pay raise, formation is at his lowest and that VOW is all cheat and lie.

I don't know what to do/thinks about that.. I have a certain pride working for HPE but reading you guys here makes me doubt about keeping this job.

I know they hire graduates (like myself)_ because it's cheaper and they replace the experienced peoples.

I worked for Hp over 10 years and the last 3 made it the absolutely the worst job I ever had in my life. The metrics a setup so you will fail.

It use to be can company that cares about it customers and it employees but those days are long gone. The employees are cost not assets now. Only thing important is the stock prices and the metrics. How far they have fallen

I'm sorry OP. I too thought I had made it when I got the job at HPE. The hard truth is this company is in trouble and as those on the inside can tell you, you are on a sinking ship. I like the commenter who have you the advice to stay a year, take as many IT courses as you can and leave with HPE on your resume. At least then you will have the knowledge and experience on your side as a benefit, if you don't get WFR first. And if you do get laid off, well then you will have several thousand dollars to not care. Good luck.

Those giddy a--holes at the Bangalore site who take our jobs score everything at 100% and throw off the VOW with hopes of getting visas to go to EMEA or the USA.

What a crock!

Run as far away as fast as you can from HPE. I was hired 5 months ago and was just notified I will be a part of WFR by end of this month. Their logic? It's a necessary reorg for an organization (talent enablement) that has been in place for less than 8 months. HPE is all talk and no action, except when it comes to spinning off companies and doing layoffs to try and compensate for another quarter of under performance. It's a company slowly dying on the vine by way of refusing to evolve and lying to itself.

I started straight out of college in 2011 before I left in 2014. Once experienced the same thing as everyone else here. Numerous Reorganisation. My manager didn't want me to excel. I was working as a IT Analyst and getting paid far lower than what's expected. My manager didn't like me much and played the favouritism card frequently. Although my job required travelling I was constantly denied to by manager. Numerous times I was told that I got no pay raise or bonus because "the stock price is too low and I need to work harder"

Hated the place. If I were you OP Id stay for a year just so you can have HPE on your resume and then look for something else. There are better jobs out there and with HPE on your resume future employers will know you're experienced. It'll be tough considering your work colleagues are demotivated but it'll pay off in the long run. Plus it's only a year. Just work from home frequently and focus on self training or any personal computing projects that'll be more worth your time then sitting through boring HP conference meetings and trying to memorize stupid pointless acronyms.

HPE is the worst place I have ever worked for. Horrible manager who always hated seeing me excel. would write me a bad reviews just to have something to say. All mangers there need major management training. Get out and find some place that appreciates you. We are in Silicon Valley, lots of wonderful companies that care about their employees. Not like HPE where you're just another number. Plus, HPE is a dying company. Glad I left as soon as I did.

I can give you my story. I was hired as new college grad in 2011. Got exceeds rating, 3% raise and 7% bonus. Almost immediately after my boss gets laid off. Still I get meets expectation and 2% raise.

Then reorg and new boss that doesn't really like me. 3 months after that thrust reorg again but 4th boss in less than 3 years still doesn't really like me.

I get partially meets expectation, no raise, no bonus and WFR about 2 months later. Despite working harder and being more proficient at my job than before.

During redeployment period, i get interview with three different groups in HP and each time the manager tells me "HR is recommending not to hire since you got low rating in the last review cycle". Despite the fact that my previous reviews were all meets or exceeds.

Just don't do it.

*I'm the OP

It's incredible how VOW seems like manipulation of numbers.

For example moral is all time low (colleagues all told me that) and the direction released the VOW numbers last week with 95% of satisfaction and bla bla bla.

Told us they'll work on keeping the moral HIGH (by hiring young people like myself and fire the most experienced)

What's going on in this company ?

This is my first private sector attempt and it sucks..

Imagine how those of us feel with nearly two decades in and only 10% raise total for all that time. You keep hoping that when the turn around is done, and there have been many, that the crumbs will trickle down, but they never do. Waiting for the package here.

I was shocked when I saw the VoW results. My peers and myself we all believe they were purposely and conveniently manipulated. A total lie, it's whatever digits they like to throw at you.

Get out of here ASAP. I have 5 years in, only 1% pay raise in that time. Meanwhile they have laid off 25% of my team and I am doing the work of 3 people. RUN RUN far away - do not look back. I am praying for WFR so I can use the severance to go back to school. This is the worst place and the worst job I have EVER had.
