Did Verizon or Union win?

The union won in the short term, however the company secured a 4 year deal with lower health care costs and a setup for a near term sale of its remaining wireline operations. Once all of its wireline has been dumped on the lap of these prop telecom companies the axe will fall and the rest of the union forces will be let go through attrition.
if last/final/best offer from Verizon was the true intention, it's Verizon that carved but that'd be more of negotiation tactics. Any any rate, I think union has won by getting more through strike. It's obvious that EWA is not working for strike for long term strike like this time. I am hoping Vz realized and there will be no more EWA forced to employee. EWA was a truly mess not because of union harassment but because administration failure.
Call center job security ends June 2017 and additional call types will started getting routed from Jan 2017, so it's a HUGE win for Verizon!

That's not true. Everyone who was a full-time employee prior to the last (2011/12) contract is pension eligible.
imo CWA/IBEW definitely came out ahead by not accepting LBFO. I would say union WON. Unions had already accepted to pay more for healthcare before the walkout. The tentative terms seem to be much better than LBFO. Extra work ( pole mtce-additions), more jobs being added ( I think I read 200 in LBFO, now its up to 1200+) , if true about QAR being gone, thats a big one I saw union wanting to be rid of. So chalk that up for a VZ CAVED . Where VZ went wrong in this round : ( and I'm glad it happened)- they may have trained internal mgmt to stand in for union) but for their longer term plans failed ( hiring temps). You cannot hire loads of temps without doing background checks- which takes time and costs money- they skipped that process ( at least it appears they did) and it got them into trouble. The timing of this also provided a big distraction from attending to matters such as possible Yahoo aquisition and the country's current sentiment that we need to fight to keep jobs here and not just let them float across the sea.

I think it is a pretty even deal on both sides. Union got a few jobs and some pension and other benefit stays. I am not really sure why pensions are so high of a priority considering no one has qualified for one in over a decade, but it can be chalked as a win. Union also got an extra year at an average raise. Company got flexibility in call routing and will save a ton on the healthcare. Company also gets the ability to offer buyouts for employees to leave the company on a yearly basis. Both sides can say win.
I've only skimmed summary of the original LBFO and both sides summary of new deal..
If Unions respresentation of details are true, I think VZ caved.
Until we read everything from both sides we won't know. But
My opinion Verizon and CWA both won with some under handed deal and the workers are the ones who will suffer in the end...
