And the reason you had to ask this question is because the people who were covering for the EWAs were too busy covering for EWAs to have time to post on this site. but they liked the OT too!

Opportunity? You must be a recent hire. Unlimited OT? Another new hire, your bonus will reflect your OT. E.G. Subtract OT from last years bonus. Verizon has low levels fleeced. Lol
Lots of us were covering for the EWAs. Learned lots of new things that will help a lot in my regular job. We should have this opportunity to learn other roles more often including work in the field. We should do this more often.
Obviously you don't have a graduate degree. It is like everything else in life - you get out what you put into it. I got a lot out of mine because I put a lot of work into my education. Does that make me better? No, just more capable in certain jobs. I have worked in many industries through my career and have never worried that my education or skills would be what made me successful. It was knowing that what level of drive i put into my job determined my level of success. I never counted on an organization to make sure I had a job. I never concerned myself with how much the company made except to take pride that the work I did contributed to that success. My job back home has been on hold. If for some reason they decide to replace me, it won't be because I didn't do a good job. I have nothing to fear because I have a quiet confidence in who I am and what I am capable of. When the next contract rolls around, will you?
A mixture, some jobs were still being completed by people working 12 hour days "back home". Other projects were put on hold until the EWAs returned. See, many EWA jobs can't just be filled by just anybody.
I agree With the EWA that posted that they worked both jobs during the stoppage. Even with your graduates degree you are still too stupid to realize that your normal function at VZ could easily be farmed out to any country around the world and it likely will be in the near future. Since you brought up the subject of your education level, and you were so kind to demonstrate to all reading your post, the result is your degree isn't worth the paper it is printed on. My advice to you is to get your parents money back or stop paying your school loans now. Okay that's unlikely to happen but lets be clear, a paid education is no guarantee of common sense. Something you lack and have clearly demonstrated. The four year degree issued in the last twenty years has replaced the high school diploma and honestly isn't worth crap. Starbucks is full of four year graduates. A graduates degree isn't much better, especially if it's in the arts. The fact that you were sent out to the field to do hands-on work while holding a graduates degree tells us of your story here at Verizon. It is a pathetic one too. Being bossed around by high school educated 1st, 2nd liners and in some case directors and even a VP here in NY, must have been challenging and beneath you, all at the same time. For the record, most outside craft employees have taken advantage and received degrees paid for by what was once a great company run by Ivan. Many of us were offered management positions in the past several times but declined because of the declining interest in wireline. Those that took the positions are gone or replace by high school educated kids. Oh, some have made it up the ranks, hence the high school educated middle and upper management, but it difficult to ensure failure of a line of business if you staff it with quality people. Enjoy the stress of the up coming RIF and remember Starbucks can use you. I'll take a Grande!

The jobs were worked by EWA "work your current job" and cover for those out with unlimited OT approved . The work your own job EWA were doing their jobs as well as jobs of ones out. Verizon enterprise had UK colleagues assisting . I worked my job as a project manager and was engaged to do work for order management , hosting service team and client services .
Totally agreed. Performance drop...for sure....but whole function erased..NOPE
E.g. in IT some projects just moved forward slower than before. Less bugs fixed or less features implemented. It's like if several garage techs would go on vacation at the same time. World won't stop :)
So when talking about RIFing EWA .... you can RIF anyone anytime, employment at will. You can trim 20 people team to 5 people anytime, it is just project delivery will be affected
Me, myself and I. Let me show my VZ email as proof. And God is so Gracious, HE showed me I can replace you anytime...but you can't replace me...coz you need to have at least a grad degree for my BAU job. HS drop outs... VZ pays you guys so well for what you do... heck I feel my IQ dropped 50% not using my brain at all in your POS job. No wonder you guys make me laugh reading all this BS. And hey RIF me please...coz like I said GOD is Graciously Gracious at least upon me!
