If you weren't already convinced that he was packin' after Tuesday Ed Mooney will demand you concede that he's the next incarnation of John 'The Wadd' Holmes. Congrats Brothers and Sisters, we just got screwed so the CWA can collect dues from a bunch of schmucks selling cell phones and on Tuesday Mooney will convince us it is the best we've ever hard, er, had.
"Now the company can sell Wireline. "
From your keyboard to God's ears. Seriously. Just tell me where to get my new Frontier shirts and surrender the old Verizon ones.
Now the company can sell Wireline. Everything is falling into place, thanks to the union leadership, while the members are pawns as usual.
"There is no cap on pensions, info released 30 minutes ago"
Released where? Link, pretty please.
There is no cap on pensions, info released 30 minutes ago. Quit making sh-- up.
We got jack sh--. Would have gotten this withiout striking. CWA SUCKS.
Thee point is the union won't walk the line and get them the same job security we enjoy at some point they will decide they won't walk for us to have what they know know won't be given to them, we are supposed to be a union. To me that means we all get the same protections. I probably won't be here next time around I have 30yrs next year but the two tier contract that was signed in 2003 will slowly be the end of the union. This time I think we should have stayed out and gotten our junior brothers and sisters the same protections we enjoy. My feeling is that this division will weaken us and this was an opportunity to correct the mistake of 2003 and make us whole again as a union.
I'm not sure where the OP is getting his info, but there is a 30 year cap on the pension in the new agreement.
Have some smart people in my garage. From the start they said this strike was about bolstering our CWA Union and steadying declining union dues than it was about us. First thing we hear about? Wireless workers. Have a bad feeling about what is about to come out in the wash.
"When the next contract is over why would those without job security walk the line for those who have it."
Job security for new hires was gone with 2003 contract. People hired after that date still "walked the line" in both 2011 and 2016.
Your point being?
This OP apparently didn't read the right agreement. There is indeed a 30 year cap on pensions.
Is it 4 years from now or the past year count and 3 from now?
You chumps are getting sold to the biggest bidder!
The company is getting what they want, people are just too dumb to see it. Here's how it works for them. The company which agreed to add jobs will do just that but those jobs will have no pensions and no JOB SECURITY. Then they will offer enhanced ISP of anyone who will go ( those with time and job security) then they have all the flexibility they need, they will when the work dries up tell those without job security you can move or be laid off. How do our leaders not see this!!! When the next contract is over why would those without job security walk the line for those who have it.
OP, you are mistaken about the pension cap. The 30 year pension cap IS part of the new agreement.
No written proof only some words from CWA. Show me the BEEF.
If this was the killer deal they want us to believe it is they would have spilled all the details already.
Is not the same deal you idiot. The extra year would make it 10 even not 10.5. Because 7.5 divided by 3 years is 2.5 a year so 2.5 x 4 years is 10. But we hot 10.5 so we got a fourth year and an extra .5 percent how uneducated are you basterds
Mmm you said cracker how I wish I could actually afford to eat crackers at this point. Yummy yum yum
Do the math moron 3 years 7.5 % 4 years 10.5% it's an extra year that's why it's more money cracker. I can't belive u guys are so stupid. It's the same exact deal from the being witha n extra year dodo
Post a link to where all this information can be found, until then its just made up stuff
And the bad part is? You make it sound like Verizon took it in the a$$ and got NOTHING in return. Doubt it.
We didn't get everything we wanted.. What you write sounds really good but something doesnt feel right.. We didn't see the whole deal. Be prepared
Where exactly are you getting this info from?
