Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

You think they don't know when we are returning to work?

You think they don't know when we are returning to work? I'm sick of the unions complete lack communication, concern, and caring for its members. You know, the union only exist because we continue to exist. I'm taking a good hard look at how to end this for good. I suggest anyone else who is not enough of this bullshit to do the same. http://www.nrtw.org/decertification-election

I'm told if things go well that I fly home June 1st, but nothing official yet on the EWA side of the house.

I gotta say I agree with the poster about not letting us know asap of the return to work date. This wb the first complete holiday weekend I have had off completely in a long time and was going to try to get away... This is the same BS that we deal with every weekend with the company. The leaders of the union and the stewards keep everything close to vest and on a "need to know" basis for the rest of us. Thanks so much for getting us back to work, I mean it. And would it have been so hard to give us a date to return officially? Some ppl claim to know, but it's all rumor still!

Too many lifers using the union to protect them when they don't do their JERBs...

Whatever price they pay to stay in the union is worth it, since they would be more productive in prison.

OP must care about doing a good job- I'd agree with the union here, you should get a career, and leave the union JERB to the neanderthals

Again, this is part of the cycle I've posted a few times about.

  1. Celebration of a great victory and the Union 'win';

  2. Reality sets in and folks realize that the deal is not all it was hailed to be;

  3. Anger at CWA management leads to voting out leadership;

  4. Begin to repeat threats of a strike about 3.5 years from now;

If there is any good news from this apparent 'agreement in principle', it is the 4 year term. Beyond that, non of us know what is or is not in the proposed contract.

I guess voc taking it up the assfrom the union. I've had enough of their stupid power trips. They can't announce a return to work date? They got to keep dangling that over your head? I'm through with getting screwed by my own union. I've had enough of the CWA.
