If the current offer gets ratified, we don't have to go through this again for a while. For that I am thankful. Some people on both sides will still have grudges. I personally don't have problems with mgmt where I work. I hope they don't get riffed or reassigned. If they do, I am sure the union will be busy in the interim years dealing with whatever management is left in the company. I know I will be busy with all the ot thrown at us to catch up fios build in Manhattan and maintaining the now more neglected underground and backyard plant. Glad to be going back to work and doing the job I was trained to do. I have never seen more unity at my shop than the recent days. Great job everyone on the lines, at the rallies, and with the mobile teams.
For the next time around, I will prepare harder and earlier. I will expect another strike. I will expect it to be longer. I will file for unemployment again and maybe actually reach the 49 day wait in ny. Maybe New Jersey will have their law passed and a 30 day wait for same. Maybe all the wireless stores will be organized by then. How many of them will strike/ picket/ cross the line/ scab? What kind of scabs will they bring in to sell phones? Will Frontier or Att step in and buy wireline with the new contract? Whatever happens it will truly be interesting. I will definitely check this site again. It's been a blast. Thanks for hosting our discussions.
