I was an apprentice for 5 yrs and topped out as a JW in the IBEW, worked residereal to Industrial. A year after I went into IT with VZ. Now I had to cross a picket...2 items mentioned by VZ that I strongly disagree with are (1) outsourcing all outsourcing should require additional taxes. Disrupting families should be on a volunteer basis; I'm sure many union members would be happy to make extra pay rather than forcing those that are single parents or can't leave for long periods of time. In the event there are no volunteers, then "forced" movement would be necessary. On the other hand, from a business perspective, outsourcing reduces costs astronomically, enabling the organization to focus on growth...
I can see both sides of this strike, but it's so delicate due to global economics and middle class sustainability that the decisions are very difficult.
Just wanted to post my 2 cents even if it's to a troll site...
