Why is everyone posting all these claims of what is agreed when they are still drafting the agreement. Once that is done it will go to the lawyers to get the approval to proceed. No one know what was given up on either side, we need to sit back until the company and union publish a document for all to see.

How exactly would one spin off the wireline portion of the company? Genuine curiosity on my end here, no smugness or trolling.
The same way they have sold all regions except for the NE. Put it up for sale and have another company buy it. In the last two rounds, Frontier has picked up our wireline services. Not sure if they'd do the same in the NE or if someone else would be interested (maybe even AT&T).
"Spin off copper and FIOS and the terms of the new contract are meaningless to VZ core as the spin off would remove the business burden from VZ and the spin off would have to thrive or die on its own business ability."

Agreed with the devil being in the details nevertheless.
The union got 1600 wireless sales members with no job securit . Didn't ATT just announce they were closing their stores and let WalMart. Targe . Best Buy sell for them how long till Verizon decides that's a good move. How many wireline did union sell out for this waiting for the details to see which horse won . I'm betting on the black and red on .
The Devil is in the details. One would be wise to wait and see the final contract before declaring any victories. What looks like a victory today may be a defeat one or two years down the road.
Spin off copper and FIOS and the terms of the new contract are meaningless to VZ core as the spin off would remove the business burden from VZ and the spin off would have to thrive or die on its own business ability. If the spin off began to fail and faced bankruptcy then we all know what that means. Once that failure is underway then another company could come in, renegotiate the contract and purchase the company on discount.
No one needs to gloat at this time. Too many uncertainties and from what we have heard about the contract the company gave in too easy and gave more than what they said they would. Very worrisome.
why don't all you managers who post this site have the guts to sign your name?
