Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

what did corporate employees ever do to you?

confused as to why the corporate employees who were forced to take over the unions jobs for 40+ days are being called such hateful names? its not like they offered.. myself included, I was whisked away to work and was away from my family and new born daughter for over a month. Not that I really had a choice, but I have an obligation to my family. I don't think its right of the Union employees to say such hateful remarks to the individuals that were forced to relocate to do the job of the union. Sure the money was great, but what did c business to business analyst employees, such as myself, do to you all? I haven't even met any of you and I get yelled at everyday. but hey, its over, we're all on the same ship, and now I get to go home and see my beautiful family. Thanks for the experience, will forever have a nasty image of all union employees especially on the east coast.

No ASSHAT man, that supposed sabotage was incompetent work that lead to damage from the poorly trained scab team, in which the company tried to spin.

you're right.. I suppose hurling insults and cutting service wires and vandalizing property is the way you "cut it in the corporate world" and to get what you want.. hmm maybe the Purge is really going to be a thing of the future. id start with all the union.

If you think someone yelling "scab" or "go home" was so hatefully, you're really thin-skinned and won't cut it in the cut-throat corporate business world.

You're never going to make it out there when you get RIFd eventually if you're so easily offended.

In my area, the picketers would be mean when they weren't up close to you. But when they followed me around to jobs and were face to face, they were all pleasant to me. Just part of the game I guess.

"what did corporate employees ever do to you?"

Well for one, telling the public that we were making $150,000 per year.

That was totally disingenuous and you supported that view directly or indirectly.

If you were on the union side of the business and not the corporate side you would do what you have to do fight for your job and maybe you would understand so do take it personal that you got yelled at

You might have a nasty image but your pay is based on union members who fight for better pay. All smart mangers and corporate people know that. Be mad, but laugh on your way to the bank and say those dicks.

That sounds like the same excuse the Nazi's used during the Nuremberg trials: "but they made me do it!"

You're so tough and can take on anyone. Don't be stupid and most of the tough ones won't yell in your face.

If verizon is focused on northeast wireline

All corporate non wireless jobs should be in the northeast

You will be supporting the communities you serve

Do you want to join the union

The hate is directed at true scabs that crossed on there own accord. Others are just caught in the cross-fire. Complex beast

If people called me those names and threatned me outside of work I guarantee they would stop after about 30 seconds. The union people hid behind their numbers and the cops.

"Why do corporate non wireless people work outside of the northeast"

sad that you resort to doing "business" that way. especially when everyone, including the union, is impacted. Love the remark by the Judge in the court ruling this week:

"I will not allow people to be threatened or put in danger of being hurt," he said. "It's not just a violation of my order, but it really runs contrary to what you are trying to achieve, which is respect for your own positions."

food for thought.
