So in 2011 when the union bosses declared that movement in negotiations dictated a return with previous contact rules in place while they continued they had to announce and then give 48 hrs before return. Does anyone know if this is in place again this time? If it is there would have to be some announcement by about noon tomorrow if there's any consideration for union returning for memorial day holiday pay, and really would have to be something tomorrow in order to return June 1 since I'm sure nothing will be done over the weekend. I'm not expecting it at all, just wondering if the same rules apply this time.

Ask all the former union officials who got voted out of the office after the last strike about that one. You may be surprised at the responses.

Do you seriously think that the union is honest with you regarding those vote tallys? Here's the reality. You vote, and the union still does what it wants to do. You are delusional if you think your "vote" means anything at all.

Not quite. You see, most of the folks that pushed the previous contract on us are no longer in office. We vote them in and we vote them out when needed.

Once again, not quite. Thugs are so passe nowadays to begin with. Secondly, if they come back with a lousy contract, thousands of us will retire and hit them where it hurts. Those who can't afford to retire will - once again - vote the leadership out of the office.
Make no mistake: Shelton knows all of this better than anyone else and he's one person whose position in this strike I wouldn't want to be in. The stakes are high, as are the expectations.

usf you must not read this board much. They don't want to come back. They are all making a fortune in unemployment payments and yard mowing. Added to that huge stack of cash they all saved up because of the coming strike there are no union members hurting for income. Besides, they all love having the time off with their families. Let them stay out another month or two while we keep training new people.
I would think, if an when an agreement is reached, the members would want to be on the payroll as soon as possible.
