Awww. Union whales relying on the "karma" argument.

Learn you imbecile whales. In order to have life, you must have death. As such, it is your union whale asses time.

Harpoons away.

agreed. You don't invest the millions they did for a training center for nothing. This was a calculated plan and the union did exactly what they hoped by not signing on VZ terms and then walking out. The union couldn't have mishandled this any worse.

@mxn - very true, and karma will be a bitch. You wish ill will upon others, don't be surprised if you get a dose of that yourself in one way shape or form.

People.... the phases are real.... NOT like the poster mentioned below. But don't kid yourself, VZ has a time line for each phase and expectations and dates for each. If you think for a second that VZ isn't ready to take this all the way, you're WRONG.

I think it's pretty sad that people on both sides are hoping that people lose their jobs. It's a rough economy right now folks. You are to disagree, but wishing something bad on a fellow employee is pretty sick.

I think we all need to start getting more familiar with the terms "impasse" and "job abandonment". Seems to me that these terms are going to start getting really important come Tuesday.

Cartman gave such an excellent presentation that Lowell has decided to move the Basking Ridge operation to South Park, Colorado.

These whales need to be beached permanently. Let the grateful ones work.

these @sshats are in complete denial. The longer it goes on the more desperate, the more vitriol is spewed by them. They're f----d and they know it. It is all internet bravado at this point. If they didn't get picked on my their knuckledragger peers, you can damn well bet 90% of them would go back to work as-is.

Okay, I was a skeptic at first. I felt real sympathy for the unions and their position.

But 7 weeks of watching the union folk show their true colors has convinced me that Lowell was right all along. We don't need the unions and we can never build the kind of company we need to be with their negative influence. It will hurt for a few months longer, but we will come out of this better and better built to compete. So much of the negativity in this company is driven by the resentment the unions have for the company and it drags the rest of us down.

Let's rip off the band-aid and get it over with. Let's be rid of this outdated, us-versus-them culture and work together to build a better company that we can all be proud of. On to Phase 3!!!

RIF all union members.

You phase 3 all wrong. Phase 3 is RIF all EWA then it is BAU with temps and contractors

Phase 4 = Wireless radiation lawsuits and loss of FiOS customers to Time Warner and Comcast result in forcing company into bankruptcy sale, resulting in massive layoff of V-team Kool Aid drinkers.

Phase 1 = get union to leave. deploy EWA

Phase 2 = hire contractors and temps

Phase 3 = send EWAs back. Run BAU with contractors and temps

The company has exactly what it wanted. You may come back under the LBFO but the lawyers are already working on the "temp to perm" chip away so only the best performing union members will be back.
