The problem is that union workers on this instance are not asking to get more. they were hired under certain promises otherwise they would of chose a different job. Verizon wants to take away most of those promises by shifting them to work away from their families, freeze their pensions, cut their healthcare, in an environment where Verizon is earning more money than they ever did. If you had given your company you work for all that you had for so many years, and at time of most success they want to cut your benefits, don't you wish you had a voice to bargain for you? Well that voice is called a UNION! If you work for a fortune 500 company you should fight for a voice! I'm not saying all businesses need unions, but the biggest do. If you cry about why you can get fired on the spot, then question yourself why.

You all are so senseless. After all its our lose. Union leaders are getting paid weekly. We are the ones suffering with no jobs, no money, no future, no direction. I am not sure where you get your information from just on your first statement shows your ignorance. If I don't show up for work I get fired. I myself have called out sick 3 times in over 20 years, I challenge you to compare your sick time records. You have been trained to believe you have no rights and except less for more production under the auspices that they are doing you a favor hiring you. Have pride in your self and put more value in your own sacrifices.

What you are seeing is a workforce willing to leave, becasue the company is over charging the customer and sending the jobs over seas to other countries... So the union members dont like that, and are willing to give up their jobs for the cause of American Jobs.

Tell your son. The folks on strike are fighting to keep jobs in the United States. They are not asking for any more then they get now. they are not just going to lay down and accept that a company that rakes in billions can send their jobs overseas.
