They are cell/switch techs (responsible for managing the actual wireless network) who were unionized and were forced to strike for a cause that did not affect them at all.

There were some radio techs that were a legacy of Nynex. 50 as I remember. Probably 35 now. The latest Union wireless number is 100 to 120 as I recall. We have unionized the stores in Brooklyn and I heard of some in Massachusetts. So it appears that roughly 60 or 70 members work at the stores and just got increases and no concessions. Also, the cnn article says new contract paves the way for unionizing the wireless side. Att stores already Union here in ny. Let's see if vs contract is as good or better than att. This is progress for the wireless workers.

I am happy to see Verizon Wireless unionized, we have the company where we want them. More and more wireless folks will be flocking to the union in no time to reap in the rewards of higher pay and benefits
