Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

The problem is this.

The company has 15000 Union workers it doesn't need. That equates to about $1.7 billion a year in savings. So post your articles about how the company lost $200 million because you're all on strike. $200 million is just a drop in the bucket to this company. It's a short term loss for them. There are 10 people out there for every one of you on strike that would cut your throat to make as much money as you do. The company will replace you. The replacements won't do as good of a job as you do at first. They will get better. In time nobody will care you're gone.

Hence the future implementation of weekly rotations. No more union whale overtime and more people will be employed. Win.

OP....valid perspective. And if you owned your own business, you would think the same way. And for the folks that say they would not, this is why 80% of businesses go out of business within 2yrs of opening.

I believe there was a Supreme Court ruling in 1938 that says you can be replaced. Just saying. You won't find that in the NLRA. It's a loophole. This company loves loopholes.

The company will not lock out anyone until all your jobs have been filled. It's your job to come back to unless you have already been replaced. The best part is in most states you won't even get unemployment because you voluntarily walked off your job. Corporate capital punishment.

The best job I ever had was working for a high performance herbicide and pesticide manufacturer. And umm i have plenty of money set aside only a fool would not protect themselves from asswipes like verizon management. My kids are kind of grown and doing well so, your assertions are about as good as lowell AOL for content... Who is this? is this you Lowell, dont you have Shammos assto wax? and Mark Reeds boots to get another shoe lift in... and stop calling him shorty...

14000 are call center jobs. Those can definitely be axed. The union line workers are not going to be offshored, but costs can be decreased with contractors. It's $21k per union worker for health insurance alone.

Let's see, you walked off the best job you'll ever have - voluntarily. WALKED OFF, not forced off. You gave up an income!! Your kids will go hungry. This is just amazing stupidity at work.... and you call management dumb a$$es?? You picket monkeys will forever question your decision making when your kids are swinging on poles and doing crack deals in flophouses.

You were a sh-- half assat on time too. They will get better. They will buy Verizon products and services. The company will promote a happy working environment. I do not see one single unhappy EWA worker. The Union always tied their hands. Your Union did this to you. Not the company. In a year no one will care that you're gone.

Well you can count on 40000 phones being canceled and any other verizon services and then there are all the family members and the friends of the family and the bystanders that saw the overcharged bills and the jobs sent to over seas workers and I would say your stock is going to drop... We will all have jobs and never buy verizon again, nor will the masses and those sh-- half asses replacements will screw your sh-- up and not have any mentors because YOU RIFED EM ALL LAST CHRISTMAS GENIUS...
