Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Mortgage game

So if you haven't made May's mortgage and June's is around the corner and no money from brother union to help. Family and friends are tapped out from helping the last six weeks. The question is what (if any) is the breaking point to cross the line. And don't say never. That is bs and we all know it. Some people it might be threat of losing their house. Others it might be chemo for their wife's breast cancer. Sadly I just can't wrap my head around the mentality of solidarity while so many are suffering. And if you are gonna rag on me: EWA spouse here. Donated to the strike fund. But I seriously doubt that money will get to those who really need it. Bad situation for all involved except in my option the ones who started it:the crap shop managers.

@1nsw That's a very classy post, and one that really made me smile. Out of all the other trashy posts by EWA and Union alike, it was really nice to see a post that didn't focus on union vs management, but focused on the actual person. Thank you for restoring some class to this board, and for showing that even when we disagree, we can still be civil and treat each other with respect.

@1ifr. Sending prayers for your wife. I'm management but some things transcend the trivial items in life. I sincerely wish her a total recovery, and the two of you a very long and happy life together. God bless you both

The Local picked up COBRA.

Beware, as required by law and the IRS, these COBRA payments will be added to your end of year 1099.

Id say two mortgages sucks. Those are two nooses. Two DEEDS to the luxurious estates in NY and FL would be more impressive.

If anyone in our area is struggling we all contribute to keep em afloat. That's why we call them brothers and sisters, we take care of family.

I know the mean mention of "sister" causes thousands of scab hard ons, sorry 'bout that. Ask a scab buddy for a rub tomorrow morning after your grits.

"Both my mortgages are paid, one in NYC metro, the other in South East Florida, thanks for the concern. Also threw in extra to the principle on both."

@thk i like the way my mans feets smell after he been working all day. Me an all the young uns gather round and gets us a good sniff. Knocks the kids out for the night, and makes the stench coming from his ba11s seem less disgusting!

Yya I know some have saved. But the single mom of three that was all over the net and the poster worker for this strike most likely doesn't have the war chest you have. I know some Ibew folks who are struggling.

I'm sure there will be a surplus of rundown double wides being repossessed in the next 60 days from the union fuktards. Beware to the new buyers though: you will need to fumigate the trailer heavily in order to get the fleas out, and to get rid of the rotted spam, a$$sweat, and blue-collar feet smell. Well, in fact, just burn it so you don't get the mange from the union animal that used to live there.

Umm, dude, we do have savings accounts Union is picking up medical for major stuff. I might be close to missing my mortgage in about 3.5 years if I don't get a temp job before then.
